Hayley Tatum MBE is an experienced executive leader with over 30 years working across some of the UK’s most well-known consumer brands. She has built her career in retail and people leadership roles at Tesco, Asda, and soon at Marks & Spencer, where she will join as Chief People Officer. At Asda, Hayley spent 14 years as Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer and a member of the Executive Board, supporting the business through a period of major change. She helped transition the company from Walmart to new ownership, integrating acquisitions, developing new digital colleague services, and supporting a workforce of more than 150,000. Prior to this, she held senior leadership roles at Tesco, where she combined operational and people responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience of running large-scale businesses alongside shaping HR strategies for more than 200,000 colleagues. Alongside her executive career, Hayley is committed to charitable and non-executive work. She is a Trustee of GroceryAid and Tommy’s, and has previously acted as NED for The Department of Work and Pensions and supported industry bodies on employment and skills. She was honoured with an MBE in 2024 for services to charity and the voluntary sector. Outside of work, Hayley enjoys fitness, gardening, dining out, and spending time with friends, family, and her two Labradors.
