Nobodys Child

Jody Plows is CEO of Nobody’s Child, one of the fastest-growing fashion brands in the UK. Since taking the helm in 2019, she has led the business through rapid growth and significant digital and operational transformation, scaling the company from £2m to over £50m net turnover, growing the team from 12 to 170 employees.

Nobody’s Child was founded with a vision to dress women in beautifully designed, more responsible fashion at an accessible price point. Working closely with founder Andrew Xeni, Jody has helped build the foundations required to scale a purpose-led brand, repositioning it as a leader in responsible and accessible fashion.

Under her leadership, the business has evolved from a dresses-focused brand into a lifestyle brand. She has overseen the migration and redesign of the Ecommerce platform, delivered major sustainability milestones including a B Corp certification, and launched nine standalone stores — transforming the company from a digital-first start-up into a premium omnichannel retailer. Now stocked with 22 retail partners and in more than 300 stores globally, Jody and team have secured international partners in the US, marking the next chapter of global expansion. Jody began her career on the shop floor at 14. After university, she joined River Island, where she developed a strong foundation in product and trading. She went on to hold senior roles across several major retailers, including Reiss, as Head of Buying & Merchandising, and Tesco, leading large-scale teams and integrating international and domestic operations within its fashion division. She later joined New Look as Product Merchandising Director, working with founder Tom Singh, who continues to be a mentor. Today, Jody is driven by building a high-performance, purpose-led culture and shaping a brand that proves responsible fashion, kind leadership and commercial success can go hand in hand. Married with two children, Jody spends her time outside of work in the countryside and running.
