John Colley is Executive Chair and Chief Executive of Majestic, the UK’s number one wine specialist with more than 200 stores and 1,200 employees nationwide.

Having previously worked as Managing Director at the retailer between 2015-17, John returned to Majestic in November 2019 following the acquisition of the 40-year-old business by US-based investment firm Fortress. His key focus is now on returning the business back to growth, while investing in new stores, colleague training and the completion of an ambitious transformation plan.

Prior to this, John was the Chief Trading Officer for Kingfisher and a member of the Group Executive team. He held a number of positions at Kingfisher over a period of 17 years, including B&Q Commercial and Marketing Director, and Commercial Director of Screwfix for seven years at the start of its omnichannel expansion.

He has more than 16 years of board-level experience, which has also included international roles, namely Chief Executive of Praxis DIY Netherlands and executive board member of Maxeda DIY Group.
